Psst… can I share a little Christmas shopping secret with you?

If you’re not a fan of malls (nope, me neither) and you’ve already got that sense of impending doom as your gift list grows and your bank account balance shrinks, I’ve got really good news for you!

One of my favorite online companies loves to put together what they call “bundles” which is their way of saying “a crazy amount of value in one really affordable package”.
Well, they’ve created a special one just in time for the holidays! It’s called A Very Merry Gift Certificate Bundle and here’s how it works…

For just $15 you get $180 in store credits from 12 online businesses that align with a simple, natural lifestyle.
You know those coupon books that schools and sports teams sell as fundraisers? It’s sort of like that, except that these aren’t coupons (they’re better!).
You literally get $15 gift certificates to put towards whatever you like from a dozen participating stores. All you’ll pay are standard shipping rates (which varies by store).
With your bundle, you’ll be able to purchase well-made, meaningful and clutter-free gifts like:
  • ethically-sourced coffees from around the world
  • photo products including wall decor, canvas wraps, prints and albums
  • classy custom-made bags, totes and camera straps
  • eco-friendly reusable glass drinking straws
  • healing tallow skin balms and lip love
  • inspirational hand-lettered art prints
  • Kombucha bottles, supplies, and brewing kits
As long as you use one gift certificate, you’ll come out even. Use two and you’ve already gotten a great deal, worth twice what you paid!

The more you use, the more you save, all the way up to $165 free shopping dollars, so you can spend less while gifting well this Christmas.

The only catch? It’s available for just 7 short days, so you need to grab yours quick (and then, get shopping)! Last day to get yours is Monday, December 5th.

DIY Labels for Clothes Rack Dividers

I received my call yesterday that let me know I was an official LulaRoe consultant and I could place my first order of inventory! It should be here in a week or two. So to celebrate with my readers I am sharing a FREE PRINTABLE.
I wanted a cute way to divide the styles and sizes of my inventory to my customers when they come to shop at my home. I ordered these basic white rack dividers:Clothing Rack Rod Blank Round Dividers 80 NEW Blank Round Size Dividers for Retail Clothing Racks (FREE SHIPPING) . Now I just needed some cute labels to go with them. I found blank white labels that fit the dividers on Onlinelabels.com. They had a template that you could download but I found it very hard to work with. Their online design software was a little wonky. So...I made my own template. Then I was able to put some lovely Lularoe background graphics and text onto the template. Next I printed them in color and placed them onto the dividers. So far I have only made ones for the styles I know will be coming in my inventory. I made one for each size and style. For the downloadable verision I have only included the names of those styles without the sizes BUT I also included blank labels that just have the pretty LulaRoe background. That way you can write in whatever (and however) you would like. Like I said, you will need to purchase these dividers to put the labels onto. Beware, the smallest amount of labels sold on onlinelabels.com is 600 (100 sheets x 6) but you could also purchase full sheet labels like these and cut them out (I would suggest using an exacto knife to cut them).

For those of you that don't want to print I also have a listing in my etsy shop so they can be mailed to you. I charge $16 for 50 printed labels (you can email me what you would like them to say) or $40 for 50 printed labels that are already attached to the rack dividers.

The first 500 subscribers to PotomacShoresLiving will receive a link to download the printable PDF file. Please do not share this PDF with your friends or team mates but you are more than welcome to give them this blog link so that they can get their own free PDF file to download :) Please leave me comments with your thoughts! If there is enough interest I will write a detailed tutorial on how I made the label template.

So this post is going to have nothing to do with Potomac Shores, so I apologize to my neighbor- readers. However, I've been thinking about this for weeks and I just had to blog about it. A month or so ago I stumbled across another blog post seen here discussing the negatives of one of the fastest growing companies in this country, LulaRoe (LLR). First off I want to say that the author's numbers are incorrect. I commented on her blog asking her to explain her math and I also let her know a few other tidbits about LLR. The comment went into moderation. About 3 weeks later I saw that comments were approved but they weren't mine. They were comments of people who agreed with her. After further investigation , I realized that all the comments left on her blog (not that many as far as viral blogs go) were in agreement with her (psychologists call this confirmation bias). Bottom line, she was approving all the comments that were in agreement with her but would not allow the ones that wanted to share a difference of opinion. Now she has every right to do that on her own blog, but in my opinion I think it shows a lack of credibility and transparency. I also think that she is being unintentionally dishonest by providing incorrect figures to the public. SO.....
I want to set the record straight, First off, you should really read this and this.  As some of you may know I am no stranger to direct sales and multi-level marketing companies. I am a consultant for a couple and a customer of many. So I know a thing or two about it. At first I thought LLR was just another one of those companies. Yes, you can make money with them but it would be long and hard and take time "building a team" or driving your friends nuts asking them to do a party, My jaw literally dropped when I found out what girls, moms, and families were making with this in their first month. I have talked to roughly 60 consultants and the lowest sales figures that I heard in their first month was $4K and the highest $17K (and yes, I was actually bold enough to ask many of them to show me their commission statements for proof). Now keep in mind this company is barely 4 years old. Yeah....just let that sink in for a minute.

In fact, it is so new that there is currently a 2 to 3 month waiting list just to sign up to be an consultant. Have you EVER heard of a direct sales company that has that "problem"?  I haven't. They are growing so fast they can't keep up with the demand. Which is a very, very good thing if you want to make money with them (basic economics). In fact LLR has come up with a genuis business plan that devised a way to ALWAYS make the demand greater than the supply. How?  Because they only make roughly 2000 pieces of each "print" (design, pattern, color, etc). So people are going bonkers trying to find their "unicorn" piece. Don't believe me? Go check out Ebay and see how much some of their unicorn pieces are selling for. Gals are tracking down consultants on social media in hopes of finding their unicorn pieces from that consultant.
Now, the initial investment of LLR is much higher than most companies as well.  You have to buy roughly 330 clothing pieces for your inventory to "buy in". So it is close to a $5000 investment, but the average piece costs $35 (retail) so 35 x 333 (pieces) = $12K at retail prices.  Personally, I like that the investment is that high because the return is too! (again...basic economics). Plus, it discourages those that want to do it just for the discounted product (with no intention of selling) which is a huge issue with other similar companies. LLR has close to a 90% retention rate whereas other similar companies have a 30% retention. That's a big difference.
So I took the leap and I submitted my paperwork to be a consultant. I will be sure to update on this often and of course I will admit if my investment doesn't pay off. If you would like more information on this opportunity please contact me here.
In closing, I would like to leave you with some correct numbers that I got from my director,

Cassandra Looper:
"LuLaRoe -2016
- LuLaRoe has just over 25,000 consultants
- LuLaRoe pays out checks for team commissions only. Profit from personal sales in not included in the checks from LuLaRoe.
- Over 80% of all consultants have placed an order with LuLaRoe in the past 3 months
- The average wholesale purchase in product from LuLaRoe of all active LuLaRoe consultants is approximately $5,000 per month. That is approximately $10,000 in retail sales per month (if all of the product purchased wholesale that month is sold at MAP pricing that same month) which means an average of $5,000 profit per month or $60,000 profit per year. This is only profit - not team commissions.
- 5 consultants have each earned one or more $100,000+ team commission checks for a single month this year (with many others receiving checks for over $50,000 for one month) - this does not include their personal profit from sales.
- LuLaRoe has been in business for just over 3 years
- The compensation plan has only been around for 2.5 years
-$79 million in wholesale sales last year, $110 million in wholesale sale 1st quarter of this year!
Never before has there been a company with the income potential and freedom provided by LuLaRoe...
LuLaRoe is changing lives !
LuLaRoe has been in business for less than 4 years and will soon join Apple, Google, Facebook and EBay on it's quest towards being a $1 Billion company! However, LuLaRoe is on track to hit $1 Billion faster than these other superstar household names! What if I told you LuLaRoe is one of the fastest growing companies in the USA (if not the fastest)?!."

ALL comments and opinions are welcome! If you have no idea what LLR is all about (or even if you do) please feel free to join my LLR Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/lularoewithkatielu/
